Case Study: 96% Organic Growth for an Online Home Decor Store

Back in December 2023, I started working with a new client a promising brand in the home decor and interior design eCommerce space. They had great products, a beautiful website, and a clear vision. But despite all of that, they weren’t getting the kind of organic traffic or visibility they deserved on Google.

They approached me with a clear goal:

“We want our website to show up when people search for elegant and unique home decor. And we want those clicks to turn into real customers.”

And I knew exactly what needed to be done.

The Challenges

Their website was struggling to rank for the right keywords especially those high-intent, “money” keywords that actually drive sales.
They had the right products but weren’t getting in front of the right people. My job was to fix that.

The Results (Within Just 2 Months)

After implementing a targeted SEO strategy, here’s what we achieved:

  • 96.52% increase in organic traffic
  • ✅ Significant ranking improvements for core high-converting keywords
  • ✅ Noticeable growth in sales and revenue
  • ✅ Better engagement from visitors (lower bounce rate, more time on site)

This growth happened within just 60 days of focused SEO efforts. It’s a perfect example of what’s possible when strategy and execution come together.

Here’s What I Did (Step-by-Step)

1. In-Depth Keyword Research

I started by identifying a mix of high-volume and long-tail keywords that matched what their target customers were actually searching for.
The focus was on commercial intent keywords searches that show someone is ready to buy, not just browse.

Example: Instead of just targeting “home decor,” we went for keywords like “luxury living room wall art” and “boho bedroom decor online.”

2. On-Page SEO Fixes

Once I had the right keywords, I optimized their existing pages to align with them:

  • Updated meta titles and descriptions
  • Improved header tags and internal structure
  • Rewrote product and category descriptions to match search intent

I made sure every page clearly answered what the user was looking for, in both content and layout.

3. User Intent Analysis

Google is smart it ranks content that solves problems or answers questions. So I spent time analyzing why people were searching certain terms and tailored the content to address those needs.

For example, if someone searched for “minimalist home office ideas,” we made sure to create content that showed real examples, tips, and linked them to products.

4. Content Strategy & Optimization

The original content was thin and lacked depth. So I reworked the blog and content plan to include:

  • Helpful guides (e.g., “How to Style a Scandinavian Living Room”)
  • Inspirational posts with product suggestions
  • SEO-rich, informative blog posts targeting long-tail queries

This helped us target new keyword clusters and kept visitors engaged.

5. LLMO Integration

I also used LLMO insights (Large Language Model Optimization) to create more relevant, human-like content.
This made the content feel less robotic and more tailored to real user needs boosting both rankings and user engagement.

6. Authority Building through Topical Clusters

We didn’t just want to rank we wanted to become a trusted voice in the home decor niche.
So I created content clusters in-depth blogs grouped around core themes like:

  • Living Room Styling
  • Seasonal Decor Ideas
  • Sustainable Home Accessories

This helped build topical authority and improved internal linking.

7. Smart Internal Linking

Speaking of internal links I mapped out a solid structure that connected related pages and blogs in a meaningful way.
This helped:

  • Spread page authority across the site
  • Improve crawlability for Google
  • Create a smoother experience for users

Final Thoughts

This project was a great reminder that SEO isn’t just about rankings it’s about understanding your audience and building a digital presence that speaks directly to them.

With the right strategy, even a niche eCommerce brand in a competitive space like home decor can shine.

If you’re running an online store and not seeing the traffic or sales you expect, I’d love to take a look and help you turn things around just like we did here.
